Barry M. Havener, CLTC
Senior Vice President/Investments
In April of 2012, Barry M. Havener joined Janney Montgomery Scott LLC and serves as Senior Vice President/Investments, forming the Havener Financial Group.
Barry's focus is on the two phases of retirement planning–accumulation and distribution. He is experienced at managing the intricacies of investment risk and return to provide balanced strategies to maximize retirement savings and income. His emphasis has always been on what he knows he can deliver: "Sound" financial advice and custom tailored customer service.
Barry recently completed the Certification for the Long-Term Care Program. He now holds a certification from the Corporation for Long-Term Care (CLTC). The course provides designees with in-depth knowledge on how to position long-term care insurance to protect the financial integrity of client retirement plans. It also equips Financial Advisors on the importance of long-term care planning as an effective inter-generational bridge.
Over the course of his accomplished career in the financial services industry, Barry has received several recognitions for the level of service, expertise and professionalism he brings to his client relationships. Barry was nominated for the 2010 edition of Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals, recognizing only the top 7% of investment advisors in the Sarasota area.
Barry is an experienced Financial Advisor who works with professionalism and integrity with meeting his clients' investment planning needs.
Michael began his career as a high school English teacher. Working with at-risk students, he learned how to relate and teach a wide range of learning styles. Michael became a Financial Advisor because he wanted to bring his teaching skills to a profession where education is of the utmost importance, and teach adults how to invest for their future.
Michael received a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Central Florida. While attending school in Orlando, Florida, he was an active member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and held many leadership positions, including membership education, recruitment chair, public relations chair and Chaplain. His organization raised tens of thousands of dollars for Toys for Tots as well as the Children's Miracle Network. Michael also was a High School track and field coach. After receiving his Bachelor's degree, he continued his education at the University of Tampa where he received a full scholarship through the Gates Foundation. Michael received his Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
After two years of teaching, Michael found his calling in financial services. He recognizes clients' needs in having a teacher to help them understand where their money is going, what their investments are doing, and most importantly, how this will lead to a better quality of life for themselves and their loved ones.

As the Branch Operations Assistant, Christine is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Sarasota Janney Branch.
As a Registered Private Client Assistant, Christine takes the time to help make sure clients receive the personal attention they deserve. An integral member of our team, Christine’s range of expertise includes resolving client inquiries, handling client communications, handling account documentation and disbursements and supporting our team’s back-office operations.
Prior to joining Janney, Christine worked as an Operations Manager at Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Education from the City University of New York/Baurch College, and she also holds her Series 7, 63, 66, 9 and 10 licenses. She lives in Bradenton, Florida.
Private Client Assistant
In addition to serving the needs of the staff members, Becky takes great pride in working with clients. Prior to joining Janney, she spent over 10 years with Continental Airlines in customer service and ultimately running the sales office in Sarasota. The proud mother of Michael and Nicholas and dedicated wife to Barry, Becky brings the same sense of warmth and enthusiasm to the team.
